Dr. Brett is an honors graduate of Southern California University of Health Sciences, where he earned both his Doctorate in Chiropractic in 2009 and his Master’s in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in 2010. He distinguished himself by earning a place on the dean’s list and serving as vice president of the student chapter of the American Chiropractic Association from 2007 to 2008. Before graduating, he gained internship experience under various physicians, including medical acupuncturists, certified chiropractic sports practitioners, internal medicine specialists, and Ayurvedic medicine practitioners. Before that, he attended the University of Portland, earning a bachelor’s degree in biology with minors in chemistry and political science.
Before joining Norcal Brain Center, Dr. Brett was in private practice, specializing in the treatment of migraine headaches and working extensively with a variety of complex neurological conditions, including acquired brain injury, myelopathy, radiculopathy, and peripheral neuropathy. He completed his clinical neuroscience training through the Carrick Institute in 2023 and earned his Diplomate from the American Chiropractic Neurology Board in 2024. His advanced education in functional neurology has further refined his ability to assess and manage challenging neurological presentations, allowing him to provide highly individualized, evidence-informed care.
A second-generation chiropractor, Dr. Brett grew up around complementary and alternative medicine clinics. From an early age, he interacted with patients and witnessed firsthand the power of holistic approaches to healing. This exposure sparked his passion for caring for others, pursuing a career in the sciences, and advancing the field. His postdoctoral studies have focused on functional medicine, sports nutrition, and functional neurology.
Dr. Brett is a native of Oregon. Outside work, he enjoys various outdoor activities, particularly kayaking, mountain biking, snowboarding, hiking, fly fishing, and landscape photography.
Dr. Minh Tran is the owner and clinic director of Norcal Brain Center. He takes a multidisciplinary approach, incorporating neurological rehabilitation, vestibular rehabilitation, and metabolic strategies to restore his patient’s health in the shortest time possible.
Born and raised in Fresno, California, Dr. Tran earned his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Biology from the University of California, Davis, where he developed a passion for understanding the human body. He then completed his graduate studies at Life Chiropractic College West before pursuing postdoctoral education in Clinical Neuroscience. He is a board-certified Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Neurology Board (DACNB), working toward his Fellowship in Traumatic Brain Injury and Rehabilitation (FABBIR).
Dr. Tran has received advanced postdoctoral training in dysautonomia, vestibular dysfunction, and traumatic brain injury, allowing him to provide a comprehensive and unique approach to patient care. He applies the latest techniques and research to improve his patient’s health and well-being and continually seeks new ways to better understand and treat complex neurological conditions.
He views the body as an integrated system rather than a collection of separate parts, enabling him to identify the root cause of an issue and develop a personalized treatment plan—rather than merely addressing symptoms. His specialties include post-concussive symptoms, dizziness, and headaches/migraines.
Dr. Tran enjoys freediving in Monterey and Carmel in his free time, pushing his physical limits with CrossFit, spending time with his family, and making various fermented foods at home.
